Charley Clay fell in love with Austin, Texas, while attending college in Mexico during the 1970s. During his school breaks, Austin was always his favorite stateside destination.
Charley was won over quickly by the city's creative culture and affordable cost-of-living. Every time he saw the sign "Austin City Limits population 252,000," he knew he was home.
When Charley completed his studies in Mexico, he joined Austin's construction and remodeling industry. It was a better fit for his sense of creativity and freedom than his previous plan of becoming a bureaucrat in a state agency.
Throughout his high school and college years, Charley held summer jobs in construction. These skills have served him well to analyze properties on the merits of the quality of the building and the cost to operate.
Charley loves the uniqueness of every real estate transaction and values the industry knowledge he's gathered over the last three decades. His ongoing education is the foundation of his success.
Charley continues his education through classes, certifications, and designations. He also enrolled in the University of Texas at San Antonio in the Bicultural Bilingual Department. Here, he received a graduate certification for Teaching English as a Second Language.
Charley is a member of the Austin Board of Realtors and serves as the 2021 ABOR Global Ambassador to Brazil. His international client list includes residents from India, Brazil, Mexico, and England.
Charley is passionate about international travel and staying active. You can find him around Austin's hike and bike trails, playing tennis or golf, and enjoying live music at one of Austin's community venues.
